NAR Ethics Training Deadline ~ Fulfill Your Ethics Obligation by 12-31-16Under NAR policy, all REALTORS® are required to complete 2.5 hours of quadrennial ethics training between 1-1-13 and 12-31-16. If you do not fulfill your membership ethics requirement by 12-31-16, you will lose your REALTOR® membership and consequently your company's access to MLS if you are also an MLS Participant. Courses that DO Comply: Bylaw ChangesRANW Bylaw and Membership Policy Addition Approved by RANW Board of Directors April 5, 2016 - new language in bold and underline EducationPricing Strategies Webcast ~ Friday, May 6thThe one-day Pricing Strategies: Mastering the CMA course covers the nuts and bolts of a comparative market analysis (CMA), including its purpose, key principles of valuation that impact these analyses and important valuation terminology. Participants will understand the purpose of appraisals, how they differ from CMAs and the scope of the appraiser's role. After completing the course, real estate professionals will be able to effectively address client concerns about pricing, choose appropriate comparables, prepare and present a superior CMA and generate ideas for working constructively with appraisers. Please call RANW to register for one of our classes including: Open Houses - Add Your Photos FirstMembers may recall that programming has been looking into issues with the flagging of listing photos with Open House dates and times. In this investigation, we have learned that many members are saving their open house information before they add their listing photos. When photos are added after the open house is saved, photos will not be flagged with the date and time unless the member edits and re-saves their open house information. Additional Fields for Realtor.comRANW MLS and Realtor.com have agreed to display additional fields with our member’s listings on Realtor.com. Fields being provided include Room Sizes and Levels, Garage information, Directions, Waterfront fields, and Virtual Tours. Realtor.com will be mapping new fields to their displays, and we expect them to begin rolling out changes around the end of May. MLS Courtesy Reminder - Leave A Business Card at ShowingsMLS has recently received numerous requests from listing agents that indicates agents are showing homes and not leaving business cards in the homes -- in turn, this prompts an unnecessary call from angry sellers wondering if the agent has been to their home or not? Also always remember to shut off lights, secure doors, etc. To quote a broker "It makes the listing agent look bad when the selling agent is not professional. We are only as good as the agent on the other end". Have You Updated Your Prospects? MLS Area Numbers are Going AwayProgramming is working on the removal of MLS Area Numbers from the MLS. This field will be removed from data sheets, listing maintenance input screens, RETS and data feeds for use on your websites and will no longer be searchable. MLS Rule Changes Approved by Board of Directors ~ April 5, 2016Local Changes Requested: MLS StatsDon't forget - "MLS Stats" are available to MLS members - it allows members to quickly and easily pull statistical reports from the MLS data. Under the Misc menu, or by using the MLS Stats button on the right side of the My InnoVia screen, members will log in to the stats program with their InnoVia login and password, and then choose from a variety of reporting options. Check the 2015 year end for the entire MLS or specific municipalities. Stats Talk
