Open Houses - Add Your Photos First

Members may recall that programming has been looking into issues with the flagging of listing photos with Open House dates and times. In this investigation, we have learned that many members are saving their open house information before they add their listing photos. When photos are added after the open house is saved, photos will not be flagged with the date and time unless the member edits and re-saves their open house information.
To prevent these extra steps, and to clarify the process, the Open House entry screen has been edited to add reminders to members about adding their listing photos first. Members will not be able to save their open house with “Flag Photo=Yes” if the main property photo has not yet been uploaded.
Please remember, if photos are updated after an open house has been added, the new photo will not have the Open House photo flag. To add a flag to a newly changed photo, members will need to edit and re-save their open house information.

Additional Fields for Realtor.com

RANW MLS and Realtor.com have agreed to display additional fields with our member’s listings on Realtor.com. Fields being provided include Room Sizes and Levels, Garage information, Directions, Waterfront fields, and Virtual Tours. Realtor.com will be mapping new fields to their displays, and we expect them to begin rolling out changes around the end of May.

MLS Courtesy Reminder - Leave A Business Card at Showings

MLS has recently received numerous requests from listing agents that indicates agents are showing homes and not leaving business cards in the homes -- in turn, this prompts an unnecessary call from angry sellers wondering if the agent has been to their home or not? Also always remember to shut off lights, secure doors, etc. To quote a broker "It makes the listing agent look bad when the selling agent is not professional. We are only as good as the agent on the other end".

Have You Updated Your Prospects? MLS Area Numbers are Going Away

Programming is working on the removal of MLS Area Numbers from the MLS. This field will be removed from data sheets, listing maintenance input screens, RETS and data feeds for use on your websites and will no longer be searchable.
For those members who have saved MLS Area numbers in Prospect Searches or Hotsheets, it is very important that the MLS number be replaced with another geographic search field such as County, Municipality, Municipal Sub-Area, School District, Zip Code and/or a Map-Based Search. Members can also set up saved searches with common parameters such as selected municipalities or mapped areas, and use those as templates for searching. Having this information saved in the system will make it very easy to retrieve and build on rather than having to enter the geographic area from scratch every time.
If you do not update your prospect records to use some other geographic selection field, the prospect record will not have any geographic search parameters, and your customers will receive listings from anywhere and everywhere in our MLS.
~  For general Search Criteria help, including how to use pick lists (County, Municipality, School District, Municipal Sub-Area), see our
How To Search document
~  For additional information on the Drill Down tools used for County, Municipality and School District, see our Drill Down document
~  For details on the Municipal Sub-Areas, which were designed to mimic some of the MLS Area Numbers, review this information here
~  For instructions on how to Save and Retrieve Search Criteria, click here
~  The best way to pinpoint locations for your client's searches is to use a Map-Based Search. Using the Polygon, Circle, and Rectangle drawing tools allow you to specify an exact area (or multiple areas on the same map) where properties will be located in your search results. Map-Based Searches can be used for any property type search, for Hotsheets, AND for Prospect Manager! Step-by-step instructions are found here. Make sure YOUR listings are found when other members use Map-Based Searches! Check and manually save your listing's location via the Listing Inventory report
