Join NAR in celebrating September as Safety Month by registering for a free webinar instructed by Tara Christianson, on September 14th at 1 p.m.
Being safe starts at home, and by now we're familiar with most of the usual safety measures homeowners take - deadbolts, window locks, even basic security systems. But, in this brave new world of technology, what about smart home devices? What do you, as REALTORS®, need to know about these devices to best inform and protect your clients? What do you need to know for yourself to ensure your own safety? You may learn some things that open your eyes, and you'll definitely walk away with knowledge you can start using immediately.

2016 RANW Neighborhood Outreach Day - Friday, October 21st!

This is great opportunity for RANW members to volunteer to help homeowners in your community by raking lawns and other fall lawn maintenance tasks for elderly and disabled residents in your market area. If you are interested, please sign up ASAP so we can determine how many homeowners we can help.  Lunch will be provided…you supply the fun!
Click on the following links
information flyer and registration sheet to sign up as teams of 4-5 people, or contact Jennifer at jsunstrom@ranw.org and she will help get you signed up with a team.

Wisconsin's Direct Giver Program

We are in the final stretch of RANW's Direct Giver Fundraising period, and we have only reached 50% of our goal. Soon we will be sending out the Association dues bills and then Direct Giver contributions "fall off the radar". Given the enormous issues the real estate industry is facing, we need your support now more than ever, so please send in your Direct Giver checks today. The WRA Direct Giver Program provides an alternative to an RPAC contribution for members who:
- wish to retain full control and direction over who will receive their political contributions.
- wish to give personal contributions to candidates for local and state elections and at the same time benefit the REALTORS® Association.

Direct Giver Process
1. Solicitations: The minimum contribution is $100.00.
2. Checks: Checks can be used and must be made to the WRA Direct Giver Program (not RPAC). Checks can be sent to RANW, W6124 Aerotech Dr., Appleton, WI 54914.
3. Credit Cards: You may also pay on-line via credit card.
Click here and login to the WRA site. Or you can call Jennifer at 920.739.9108 with your credit card information and she will take care of it.
4. Control: Contributions to the Direct Giver Program are deposited in a separate bank account from RPAC contributions. Structurally, the WRA then acts like a bank, with disbursements permitted only with the explicit authorization of the contributor. That is, you retain full control on how your direct giver money is spent.
5. Directing Contributions: Contributors may at any time direct their contributions, in whole or in part, to any candidate for local, state or federal office. When disbursing funds, contributors can email or call RANW or WRA to indicate how they wish their money to be distributed.

MLS Area Field Will Be Removed on Tuesday, October 4th

MLS has been reminding members to update their Saved Search criteria (including Prospects and Hotsheets) to use a different geographic locator field such as County, Municipality, School District, zip code, and/or mapping. If these saved searches have not been updated, the MLS Area removal will leave those searches with no geographic criteria at all.  Please see the helpful information below, as previously shared via the RANW Newsletter and InnoVia's Board News:

MLS Areas Are Going Away - How to Search Without Them
The MLS Area field will disappear from the MLS mid-2016. This field will no longer appear on data sheets or listing maintenance, and will no longer be searchable. In preparation for this change, MLS recommends that members begin using other geographic search fields such as County, Municipality, Municipal Sub-Area, School District, Zip Code and/or a Map-Based Search for all saved searches including Prospects and Hotsheets.

Members can also set up saved searches with common parameters, such as selected municipalities or mapped areas. Having this information saved in the system will make it very easy to retrieve and build on, rather than having to enter the geographic area from scratch every time.

~ For general Search Criteria help, including how to use pick lists (County, Municipality, School District, Municipal Sub-Area), see our How To Search document.
~ For additional information on the Drill Down tools used for County, Municipality and School District, see our document here.
~ For details on the Municipal Sub-Areas, which were designed to mimic some of the MLS Area Numbers, review the information here.
~ Click here for instructions on how to Save and Retrieve Search Criteria.

The best way to pinpoint locations for your client's searches is to use a Map-Based Search. Using the Polygon, Circle, and Rectangle drawing tools allow you to specify an exact area (or multiple areas on the same map) where properties will be located in your search results. Map-Based Searches can be used for any property type search, for Hotsheets, AND for Prospect Manager! Find step-by-step instructions here.

Make sure YOUR listings are found when other members use Map-Based Searches! Check and manually save your listing's location via the Listing Inventory report.

Showing Reminders - Leave Enough Time for Multiple Showings

MLS wants to remind REALTORS® to leave enough time in between when setting up multiple showing appointments ~ so the Sellers don't come home at 4:05, if you had a schedule of 3:00-4:00, and you are all still there...!

Realtor.com App

Start searching right with the most accurate real estate app for homes or apartments for sale or for rent. Realtor.com® is the only app to get real estate listings sourced directly from over 800 MLS's -- 90% of listings refreshed every 15 minutes. Why should your buyers use realtor.com®?
~ 90% of listings updated every 15 minutes. All the rest updated at least once a day.
~ Quickly swipe to see rich and detailed photos of real estate properties that interest you.
~ Property listing details now include property tax, sales history and more school information including ratings for each house.
~Draw your own custom search area right on the Bing map
~ Add open houses directly to your calendar from the listing (open house search is started from the Home screen)
~ Search nearby homes for sale, open homes, recently sold homes, apartments for rent, and houses for rent all from the photocentric and data-filled home screen
~ Filter out pending listings from your search.
~ Sign-in to save searches and listings. Access them again on your mobile phone, tablet, PC or at
www.realtor.com.

Minimum Photo Size Changed September 1, 2016 - Why Important

MLS has recommended a minimum pixel size of 1024x768 for all listing photos. On September 1, that recommendation became a requirement. If members attempt to upload or clone a photo that is smaller than the minimum 1024x768, an error message will appear on the screen. This increase in size is needed to support the high-resolution gallery images, and will also allow a clearer image to be shared in IDX, in WIREX, and in data feeds. Listing photos will still need to be in .JPG format, and under 8Mb in file size.

MLS Stats

Don't forget - "MLS Stats" are available to MLS members - the program allows members to quickly and easily pull statistical reports from the MLS data. Under the Misc menu, or by using the MLS Stats button on the right side of the My InnoVia screen, members will log in to the stats program with their InnoVia login and password, and then choose from a variety of reporting options. Check the 2015 year end for the entire MLS or specific municipalities.

Supra Showing Notification Change - Please Note

Supra made a small change to the sending address for showing notifications. The showing notifications will come from SupraShowings@utc.com instead of SupraShowings.UnmonitoredMailbox@fs.utc.com. This shorter email address helps contain showing notifications to one text message. This change went into effect on Thursday, August 18. If you aren't receiving showing notifications and you think you should be, check the email address you have specified to receive showing notifications in SupraWEB and check your spam folder to make sure that SupraShowings@utc.com is not blocked.

How to Find Your eKEY Serial Number

If you need to call Supra's call center for assistance with your Supra key, you will be asked to provide your eKEY serial number.

To locate your eKEY serial number, open the eKEY app on your smartphone or tablet. At the top of the screen you will see either eKEY Basic or eKEY Professional followed by your key serial number.

Important! Record your eKEY serial # somewhere in a safe place so if you get a new smartphone or need to re-install the eKEY app, you'll be able to locate your eKEY serial number.
