Congrats to those of you already venturing into RANW's New Member portal!
Members can pay 2020 dues through the new portal as well as update
personal information in the RANW database. For example, your home address changed? You can update it right on the portal.
Your member IDs are listed too, along with your license number, phone and office info. Easy links to popular websites are also right on the home page, conveniently in one place.
Another great feature for company management is the account lookup for Brokers and Affiliate Designates where you can view members in your office to see if they have paid their renewal dues yet.

How to Thwart 6 Hacking Threats

October was National Cyber Security Awareness Month-a time for cautionary reminders of the digital dangers to your business. Take these steps to keep you and your clients safe from scammers.
Are you doing enough to keep your personal data and that of your clients secure? Recent cyber attacks, including the hacking of the Corcoran Group's computer systems-which exposed agent commissions to company employees-should serve as a wake-up call to the industry. Wire fraud, another prominent problem in the real estate industry, also can cost your clients their entire down payment and unravel transactions in the final minutes.
Real estate was the second-most targeted industry for malware in the second quarter of 2018, according to a report from cyber security firm eSentire. October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month, and security organizations are using this time to raise consciousness about making cyber security a priority in business. REALTOR® Magazine uncovers a few of the vulnerabilities that real estate pros are facing.

Government Affairs

Direct Giver Program

We are in the final stretch of RANW's Direct Giver Fundraising period, and we are just one year out from the 2020 November elections. Given the enormous issues the real estate industry is facing, we need your support now more than ever, so please send in your Direct Giver checks today. The WRA Direct Giver Program provides an alternative to an RPAC contribution for members who:
- wish to retain full control and direction over who will receive their political contributions.
- wish to give personal contributions to candidates for local and state elections and at the same time benefit the REALTORS® Association.

Direct Giver Process
1. Solicitations: The minimum contribution is $100.00.
2. Checks: Checks can be used and must be made to the WRA Direct Giver Program (not RPAC). Checks can be sent to RANW, W6124 Aerotech Dr., Appleton, WI 54914.
3. Credit Cards: You may also pay on-line via credit card.
Click here and login to the WRA site. Or you can call Jennifer at 920.739.9108 with your credit card information and she will take care of it.
4. Control: Contributions to the Direct Giver Program are deposited in a separate bank account from RPAC contributions. Structurally, the WRA then acts like a bank, with disbursements permitted only with the explicit authorization of the contributor. That is, you retain full control on how your direct giver money is spent.
5. Directing Contributions: Contributors may at any time direct their contributions, in whole or in part, to any candidate for local, state or federal office. When disbursing funds, contributors can email or call RANW or WRA to indicate how they wish their money to be distributed.

Supra eKEY Agent Alert Safety Feature

A safety feature in the Supra eKEY app called "Alerts" sends notices to up to 3 pre-determined contacts at the touch of a button. Program emergency contact e-mail addresses and/or phone numbers using SupraWEB. Compose a message to e-mail or text your emergency contacts. If the keyholder needs to alert these contacts during an appointment, the ALERT button is pressed and held on the eKEY for 3 seconds. The pre-defined message is sent to contacts along with a link to a map of the location of the eKEY.
To learn more about the Supra eKEY Safety Alerts Feature, please view Supra's Agent Alert flyer online

Preventative Care for BTLE Lockboxes

1. To avoid jamming the key container, always make sure to put the key in the correct spot. There is a place in the back of the key container that has an image of a key and the no symbol over top of the key. Do not place the key in this area of the key container or the container will jam. A jammed key container often must be cut open by a locksmith and the lockbox destroyed.
2. Also to avoid jamming the key container, do not turn the lockbox upside down when activating the lockbox. This may cause the key(s) inside to transfer to the incorrect part of the lockbox. Instead, make sure to place the lockbox on a door handle and keep upright at all times. If your clients complain about the lockbox possibly harming the exterior of the door, consider purchasing door protectors at the Board office or placing lockbox on a rear or side door. Never leave the lockbox unattached as leased equipment is the responsibility of the Company. Equipment has been stolen or taken in the past.
3. Do not leave lockboxes on the ground or attached to an iron railing. Our main issue with lockboxes in the winter months are shackles unable to release that have been attached to iron railings. These boxes need to be cut off by a locksmith.
4. Companies: Please make sure you're using SupraWEB to assign lockboxes to properties. When lockboxes are properly assigned and inventory organized, fewer lockboxes are lost. Using SupraWEB, your company can also track activity on lockboxes. Please contact RANW MLS if your OA or staff needs assistance in setting up and using SupraWEB.
5. Companies can obtain an Emergency Display Key (DKey) for emergency use only. If an agent breaks his or her phone and needs to use this office DKey, a report must be filled out for each use. These keys are also very useful if a key container is jammed and unable to activate the Bluetooth on a lockbox. Using a DKey, a keyholder can release a shackle on a jammed lockbox. A fob can also be paired with Bluetooth on your smart device in order to release the shackle of a jammed keybox.

Supra Lockbox One Day Code Versus Reciprocal Access

Any nonmember of RANW who is in a MLS participating in WIREX, is eligible for a one-day code for lockboxes in the RANW MLS service area. This does NOT include nonmembers who are members of Central WI MLS, South Central WI MLS or Marinette WI MLS. For example, Metro MLS has Sentrilock lockboxes and DOES NOT have a reciprocal agreement with RANW MLS. So a Metro MLS member looking to show a property in the RANW MLS will need a one-day code in order to access the Supra lockbox.

Any nonmember in the CENTRAL WI MLS, SOUTH CENTRAL WI MLS or MARINETTE WI MLS is eligible for reciprocal access to the Supra System. Reciprocal access means as a member of an MLS that has the SUPRA system and Supra lockboxes, all that is needed is to submit an application for access to another MLS that also has the Supra system and Supra Lockboxes.  For reciprocal access that will last until participating MLSs Supra Lockbox system expires, please contact your primary MLS for set-up. A member of RANW looking to reciprocate with Central, South Central WI or Marinette WI MLSs should contact RANW MLS at 920-739-9108 or e-mail aschilling@ranw.org.

For further clarification on the One-Day Code, please visit our website:
http://www.ranw.org/pdf/MLS/LockboxesKeys/NonMemberSupraAccess.pdf

For step by step screenshots on how to give a One-Day Code to a nonmember agent, please visit: http://www.ranw.org/pdf/MLS/LockboxesKeys/NonMemberSupralockboxAccess.pdf

APPRAISERS: Customizing Search Screens

A message from Judd Stevenson, Appraiser and President of the RANW
Board of Directors
:
Dear Fellow Appraiser,
During Appraiser Continuing Education class, I was asked why Paragon doesn't allow searches with just above grade square footage. Paragon does allow searches for just above grade square footage and you can customize your default screen to just have above grade square footage.

Here's how to customize your default screen:
1. On your default screen, click "Customize" it is located at the tool bar at the top of the search square on your computer
2. Then click "Fields"
3. Go to Containers, and then click Secondary Criteria
4. See the SQFT Total Fin Above and Below and mark that,
5. In middle of screen, click "Remove"
6. Now go to the upper left part of box to the Search area and type in SQFT
7. Select SQFT Fin Above Grade
8. Go to the middle and click "Add"
9. Now you can move that search criteria up or down within the Secondary Criteria by clicking the up arrow or down arrow. Personally, I put it at the top of the Secondary Criteria because it's that important to me in my searches.
10. Now go to the upper right corner of that individual box you were moving up/down and click "Apply/Save" and it will now become your default Secondary Criteria selection!!!

Hope this helps those that are interested. For a PDF document of customizing instructions, go to Resources > My Links and open the How to: Customize Search Screens and Results Spreadsheets documents,

For assistance or technical support, contact Paragon Customer Care at 877-MLS-HELP (877-657-4357) or RANW MLS at (920) 739-9108.
