September is REALTOR® Safety Month, and with the ups and downs of the last year, the importance of keeping safety at the forefront of your mind is clear. Join former police officer and 35-year REALTOR® veteran, Janet Judd, as she details why safety matters and how implementing safety best practices is not only good for you, but ultimately good for your business.

REALTORS® encounter job-related risks every day. Whether you are new to the industry, or a seasoned REALTOR®, it is easy to miss warning signs or become complacent in your practices. Learn proven tactics on how to spot danger and how to navigate dangerous situations and key takeaways that you can share with friends, family, clients, and co-workers.

Join us the following day in this two-part session to continue the conversation. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, speak about your experiences, and hear stories from fellow REALTORS®. All are encouraged to participate in this interactive and open conversation about REALTOR® danger zones.

REALTOR® Safety Network

The National Association of REALTORS® is committed to the safety of our members. Through their new REALTOR® Safety Network, NAR will deploy REALTOR® Safety Alerts via social media when a physical or cyberthreat to REALTORS® warrants national attention. For example:
~ A REALTOR® or the immediate family member of a REALTOR® goes missing NAR learns that the association name or the names of its programs are being used fraudulently to attempt to collect money or information from REALTORS® or others
~ A physical threat to REALTORS® warrants national attention

For incidents that don't meet the criteria for a national alert, the REALTOR® Safety Team will ensure the local association is informed. To notify law enforcement of a live emergency, please contact 9-1-1. 

Membership Renewal Time Coming Soon! Update Your Preferred Mailing Address

The annual membership renewal dues will be generated in late September and mailed out to each member's preferred mailing address around the first of October.  If you would like to update your preferred mailing address from office to home or vice versa, please login to your member portal with your member id or NRDS id and update the Preferred Mail section.  See instructions here.

The discounted dues deadline will be Monday, November 15th. Thank you for your membership!

WRA Board Approves zipForm Access Until December 2022

You may be familiar with the recent decision by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to discontinue its member benefit of the zipForm transaction management product at the end of 2021. While this is a decision at the national level, please rest assured that the board of directors for your state association, the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association (WRA), has voted that your zipForm will continue through the end of 2022. Additional details will be available in the coming months.

RANW wishes a fond farewell and happy retirement to Cary Dvorak, one of RANW's long-time data entry specialists. We thank Cary for her 23+ years of dedicated customer service to our members! National Association of Realtors® Announces Partnership with 1-800-GOT-JUNK?

The National Association of Realtors® has announced a new partnership within the REALTOR Benefits® Program. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? will be providing $50 off full-service junk removal services to all NAR members and their families, in addition to all national, state and local association staff. This new partnership will also allow Realtors® to extend the benefit to their clients, who can then take advantage of the service at a discounted rate throughout their home sale or purchase process. REGISTER HERE for the 7-hour Appraiser CE USPAP 2022-23 class at the Grand Meridian, Appleton, on Thursday, October 28, 2021 @ 8:30am. What is USPAP? Click HERE for more information from the Appraisal Foundation, including requirements for Appraisers.  Virtual and other live options are also available at WRA.org.

RANW LIVE CLASS REQUIREMENTS: Class sizes will be limited; room will be set up for social distancing; masks will be required to be worn AT ALL TIMES, except when eating or drinking, EVEN DURING CLASS.

WRA has other options available for the USPAP 2022-23 class, both live and virtual, if you cannot comply or if you cannot wear a mask throughout the day.

Increase Diversity with Partnership for Success

The WRA Partnership for Success Program is designed to promote diversity within the REALTOR® membership and enhance the probability of long-term success for new minority agents. The program offers minority candidates the opportunity to have one year of REALTOR® dues and six months of MLS fees covered, and to attend real estate practice courses and networking events. Many program benefits are "paid forward" via cash reimbursements or community service hours within three years. Potential applicants and their sponsoring brokers can obtain the application forms and watch videos at www.wra.org/Partnership for more information.

The Partnership for Success Program gives firms a way to recruit new agents and promote diversity based on race, color or national origin.   • The median listing price grew at 8.6 percent over last year, notching a second week of single-digit price growth after a 50-week streak of double-digit price growth.
  • The good news for buyers is that the pace of price growth is now half April's 17.2% year over year pace.
  • The good news for home owners and potential sellers is that despite slowing, home prices continue to grow. The median home listing price held its record-high in July at $385,000.
  • We expect prices to ease as we head into fall, as they have historically, which means we may not see new all-time highs, but are likely to see the highest prices ever for the fall and winter season.

REALTOR Emeritus Applications Due by September 27th

REALTOR® Emeritus is a NAR designation available to any current REALTOR® member in good standing who has been a REALTOR® consistently for at least 40 years in a local board and a member of NAR, who currently serves on a national association committee.  
~ Applications submitted will require proof of one (1) year of service* at the National Association level.
* "Service" is defined as serving as an officer, director, committee member, federal political coordinator, president's liaison or regional coordinator to a country with which NAR holds a reciprocal agreement.

In some cases, RANW does not have data from the year a REALTOR® joined, so we don't notify members.  If you feel you qualify for REALTOR® Emeritus, please contact Cheryl at
cdreger@ranw.org by September 27, 2021.  RANW will work with you to complete the application and provide evidence of your 40 years and proof of service to submit to NAR.

RANW Offers Virtual New Member Orientation!

Until we can safely offer live New Member Orientation classes, RANW has developed a virtual option for all new members who have not yet completed this membership requirement.  New members have all been emailed all of the information and links and have have 30 days to complete the requirement. If you have questions, please email cdreger@ranw.org or call 920-739-9108.

Ethics Deadline is 12-31-21

A new three-year ethics cycle began January 1, 2019, and the deadline is December 31, 2021
REALTORS® are required by NAR to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within three-year cycle. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.

Training may be completed through the following options:
~ CE Course 4- Ethics & Best Practices (send Crs 4 certificate to RANW)
~ New Member Orientation class completed January, 2019-December, 2021

Appraisers Need to Complete Mandatory Ethics Requirement by 12-31-21

The mandatory NAR Ethics Training Deadline is 12-31-21. See below the two ways you can complete the requirement:
1. Residential or Commercial Wisconsin CE Course 4
If you HAVE completed a qualifying Residential or Commercial CE Course 4, please email Cheryl (cdreger@ranw.org) the following:
~ Name
~ Certificate or date you completed CE Course 4
~ School where you took the class
OR
2. Take the
FREE Online Class for existing members and forward the completion date or certificate to Cheryl at cdreger@ranw.org.

National Association of Realtors® Policy
Under NAR policy, all REALTORS®, including all specialties (residential, appraisal and commercial), are required to complete 2.5 hours of ethics training between 1-1-19 and 12-31-21. If you do not fulfill your membership ethics requirement by 12-31-21, your REALTOR® membership will be suspended.

Designated REALTORS®
Additionally, if you are the Designated REALTOR® and the MLS Participant for your company, and your REALTOR® membership is suspended, your and you will lose your company's access to MLS until you comply with the ethics requirement.
