WRF's Team Up Against Hunger Campaign Exceeded One Million Meals!At the beginning of June, the Wisconsin REALTORS® Foundation (WRF) announced a goal of trying to raise one million meals for its partner, Feeding Wisconsin. At the beginning of the campaign, they were 13,800 meals away from raising one million meals and at the end crushed the goal by raising 36,450 meals! Great New Customer Resource BrochureA new brochure titled, "REALTORS® Do More Than Sell Homes," was unveiled at REALTOR® and Government Day that highlights four pieces of legislation that the WRA passed to promote and protect your client's property rights and property taxes. Shredded Paper AND Plastic Bags are NOT RecyclingOutagamie County Recycling and Solid Waste are looking to spread the word to local REALTORS® within Northeast Wisconsin that shredded paper is NOT curbside recyclable neither are plastic bags. Shredded paper in plastic bags, definitely Not mean for recycling. All these items need to be included with your garbage or contracted with an appropriate entity for disposal. Outagamie County Recycling services 16% of the states recycling market, covering all of our collective members. To the right is a photo of items removed from a recycling dumpster. Not only is shredded paper not curbside recyclable, plastic bags are a detriment to the equipment. Tony Evers signed into law five historic bipartisan bills that will increase workforce and senior housing inventory in Wisconsin. Additionally, late last night, the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee approved $525 MILLION to fund these loan programs.
Furthermore, the bill streamlines the rezoning process and limits the ability of existing residents, or Not In My Backyard (NIMBYs) to oppose the development of new housing after a project has been approved. New Vacant Land Listing ScamRANW MLS has been receiving calls from agents regarding a new listing scam, typically involving vacant land. In addition, a recent meeting with attorneys for other state REALTOR® associations revealed that this scam is nationwide and growing.
Be careful out there and beware of scammers! IMPORTANT - LISTING CONFIRMATION DEADLINE CHANGEAs of June 1, 2023 new listings submitted after 4:30 pm will not be CONFIRMED until the next business day. No exceptions will be made. Data Compliance will review all listings submitted after 4:30 pm on the next business day.
