REALTOR NEWSAssociation Health Insurance Calls NOT from NARMembers of the National Association of REALTORS® have reported receiving unsolicited text and robocalls from various numbers, claiming to represent "NAR health insurance." These calls and texts do not originate from NAR. The association won't make unsolicited outreach to enroll you in an insurance program or otherwise solicit your personal information.
Members may access information about the insurance products available through the REALTOR Benefits® Program and REALTORS® Insurance Place. Always be vigilant in protecting your personal information. If you receive requests for any personal information via phone or text originating from any phone number not known to you, do not respond.
If you have any concerns about the legitimacy of a communication or request from NAR, please hang up and contact our Member Support team directly by dialing 800-874-6500, or contact us via live chat or email.
Unfortunately, spam-callers will make calls even when such calls violate the law and Do Not Call list requirements. In addition to the steps you mention about texting "STOP" in reply to unwanted text messages, Members should be mindful that asking to be put on the caller's Do Not Call list is not the same as ensuring your phone number is listed on the federal Do Not Call Registry and separate state Do Not Call Registries.
To place your phone number on the federal Do Not Call Registry, please visit this website: www.ftc.gov/faq/consumer-protection/.
Click here to file a Do Not Call registry complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. REALTOR Code of Ethics for 2022NAR's revised REALTOR® Code of Ethics for 2022 is in effect and it includes changes to the following Standards of Practice:
~ Standard of Practice 1-8
~ Standard of Practice 12-1
Standard of Practice 1-8 was amended as follows: REALTORS®, acting as agents or brokers of buyers/tenants, shall submit to buyers/tenants all offers and counter-offers until acceptance but have no obligation to continue to show properties to their clients after an offer has been accepted unless otherwise agreed in writing. Upon the written request of the listing broker who submits a counter-offer to the buyer's/tenant's broker, the buyer's/tenant's broker shall provide, as soon as practical, a written affirmation to the listing broker stating that the counter-offer has been submitted to the buyers/tenants, or a written notification that the buyers/tenants have waived the obligation to have the counter-offer presented. REALTORS®, acting as agents or brokers of buyers/tenants, shall recommend that buyers/tenants obtain the advice of legal counsel if there is a question as to whether a pre-existing contract has been terminated.
Standard of Practice 12-1 was amended as follows: Unless they are receiving no compensation from any source for their time and services, REALTORS® may use the term "free" and similar terms in their advertising and in other representations only if they clearly and conspicuously disclose: 1.by whom they are being, or expect to be, paid; 2.the amount of the payment or anticipated payment; 3.any conditions associated with the payment, offered product or service, and; 4.any other terms relating to their compensation. (Amended 1/20)
REALTORS® must not represent that their brokerage services to a client or customer are free or available at no cost to their clients, unless the REALTOR® will receive no financial compensation from any source for those services.

Local Election Update- For information regarding voter registration, polling places, absentee ballots and please visit MyVote.WI.Gov.Thank You to all 2021 Direct Giver and RPAC Contributors! In 2021, not only were we able to exceed our fundraising goal, but for the fourth year in a row, we had the highest participation rates for Extra-Large boards and highest per capita!!! Slowly, but surely we are moving closer to having each member financially support the association's advocacy efforts and help elect and reelect candidates who support the real estate industry and private property rights.
The RANW Government Affairs Committee and the RANW Board of Directors sincerely thank every single person who gave what they could either to RPAC or to the Direct Giver Program. Although we are not able to list all members who so generously support the RPAC program, every single dollar counts! A special thank you is also extended to the 2021 Government Affairs Committee Chair: Chris Klein and the entire Government Affairs Committee, as well as so many brokers who have helped highlight the importance of RPAC to their agents. If you have any questions regarding RPAC or Direct Giver, or if you would like to become involved in the Association, please contact Jennifer Sunstrom, RANW Government Affairs Director at jsunstrom@ranw.org or (920)739-9108.

Lockbox
Program
Winter Supra Lockbox CareBrrrrrr! It's cold out there! Here are a few tips to keep your lockboxes in tip-top shape this winter:
1. Always properly attach the lockbox to a DOOR KNOB. If your client is worried about wear and tear on the door itself, grab a door protector. Realtor door protectors are available HERE at the Realtor Team Store or at the Realty Supply Store.
2. Never leave a lockbox unattached as they have been known to walk away!
3. Never leave a lockbox sitting on the ground outside. Depending on the weather, the lockbox can freeze to the ground.
4. Never place a lockbox on a railing (especially iron railings). This not only jams the shackle, but has also been known to damage lockboxes in the winter months.
5. Also, make sure to re-insert the key containers property as well as placing keys in the proper area of the key container without keychains, rubber bands, key rings or other accessories. If you accidently damage a lockbox, please notify the listing agent immediately.
